Residential Specialty Contractor (RSC) license in Oregon

Lets a business work in one or two unrelated building trades on homes and small commercial structures.

Most single-trade businesses hold this endorsement, such as a roofer, a concrete crew or a siding installer. The trades can change from one job to the next, as long as each job stays within two.

The limit is on the contract. If a job has three or more unrelated trades, whether the contractor does them or subcontracts them, the whole contract price can't be more than $2,500.

Count the trades in your bid. A bathroom job with plumbing, tile and drywall over $2,500 calls for a Residential General Contractor. The state minimums for this endorsement are a $20,000 bond and $300,000 per occurrence in liability insurance.
