Privacy policy

This policy explains what Central Coast Digital Solution, LLC ("we") collects when you use contractorlookout.com, and the choices you have.
Information we collect from visitors
- Usage and device data: pages viewed, referring site, approximate location from your IP address, browser and device type. This is collected by Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics doesn't use cookies.
- Search queries you type into our search box, which we use to return results and to improve the site.
- Messages you send us, such as corrections or contact emails, including your name and email address.
- Cookies and similar technologies set by us, by analytics providers and, once ads are enabled, by advertising partners.
We don't ask you to create an account, and we don't collect payment card information.
Information about licensees
License records come from the Contractors State License Board's public data file (see data sources). For sole-owner licenses we show only the city and ZIP code, never a street address, and we ask search engines not to index those pages. Licensees can ask us to correct a record, hide an address or phone number, or remove a sole-owner profile page. See corrections and removals. We respond within 7 days.
Advertising and cookies
We may show ads served by Google and, later, by other ad networks such as Mediavine. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's advertising cookies let it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of many third-party vendors at aboutads.info and networkadvertising.org. Some links lead to quote-request partners. If you follow one, that partner's privacy policy applies to anything you submit there.
How we use information
We use it to run and secure the site, understand which pages are useful, show and measure ads, answer messages, and process correction requests. We keep analytics data for up to 14 months and correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request.
Your California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you live in California, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell or share, and to get a copy of it;
- Delete personal information we collected from you, with some exceptions;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information, including sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising;
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information (we don't collect any); and
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
Categories collected in the last 12 months: identifiers (IP address, cookie IDs; email address if you contact us); internet or network activity (pages viewed, searches); and general geolocation derived from IP. Sources: you and your device; analytics and advertising providers. Disclosed to: hosting and analytics providers (Cloudflare, Google) and, once ads are enabled, advertising partners. We do not sell personal information for money. Allowing advertising partners to use cookies for personalized ads may count as "sharing" under California law. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Information that is lawfully made available from government records, such as CSLB's license file, is not "personal information" under the CCPA. Even so, we limit how we display sole-owner records, as described above.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
To opt out of sale or sharing on this browser, use the button below. We also honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: if your browser sends it, we treat it as an opt-out and turn off ad personalization.
To use your other rights, email privacy@contractorlookout.com with the subject "California privacy request". We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 days. We may need to verify your identity. You may use an authorized agent.
Other U.S. states
Residents of other states with privacy laws can make the same requests at the same address. We honor them as the law of your state requires.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS. We collect as little as we can and limit access to it.

We will post changes here and update the date at the top.
