What "JDG Entity Susp" means on a California contractor license
Updated November 1, 2026 · Primary status
CSLB's license page wording: "License is suspended because its association with another license that has failed to comply with an outstanding civil judgment."
Suspended because a person on this license is also listed on another license with an unpaid civil judgment.

This license may have no judgment of its own. The problem sits on a different license that shares people with this one. In California, the same owner, officer or qualifier can appear on more than one license, and CSLB treats those licenses as linked through their personnel.
When one linked license fails to pay a construction-related civil judgment, B&P Code §7071.17(j)(2) lets CSLB suspend the others as well. CSLB's page reads: "License is suspended because its association with another license that has failed to comply with an outstanding civil judgment."
The rule keeps people from dodging a judgment by working under a second license. For you, the result is the same as a direct suspension: the license is not valid for contracting until the judgment on the other license is dealt with.
What to do if a contractor you're considering shows this status
- Don't sign while this suspension is in place.
- On CSLB's page, look at the personnel listed and search their names to find the linked license.
- Ask the contractor about the judgment on the other license and when it will be resolved.
