C-35 Lathing and Plastering Contractor license in California

Updated November 1, 2026 · Official name from CSLB's classification list

Lathing and plastering contractors apply plaster and stucco: mixes of sand, gypsum, lime, cement and water, troweled or sprayed onto a base. They also install the base itself: wood or metal lath, metal studs and channel work that holds plaster in place. Coatings for soundproofing and fireproofing are included.

CSLB merged the old C-26 Lathing license into C-35 in 1998. If you need exterior stucco repair, a re-stucco or a smooth plaster interior, a C-35 is the specialist.
